Recall & Heal Trauma

Recall & Heal Trauma

Question: “Can hypnosis help me recall trauma from my past?”

As the saying goes, “Anything is possible”.

Forensic hypnosis is designed to help people use their subconscious mind to recall criminal events with greater accuracy than the conscious mind alone can do. The conscious mind can only hold 7–9 bits of information and the rest goes into our perpetual archive called the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is unlimited in its potential to store information.

You don’t need a forensic hypnotherapist though to recall details of an event of a criminal nature. Most hypnotherapists work with trauma, which is the situation you are describing.

When you are relaxed and following hypnotic suggestions, the brain releases neurochemicals, called Dopamine, Melatonin, and Endorphins, all of which increase focus, helping to make you feel more balanced and adding to better sleep conditions too.

Thus, it’s easier to track past traumatic events because you are hyper aware yet feeling safe and secure at the same time. That’s a win-win for your brain and increases the likelihood of encountering archived subconscious material that your conscious mind couldn’t access because of its self-protective and limited nature.
